It has been scientifically proven that students are less likely to learn when sessions are characterized by a serious atmosphere. The aim of my sessions is to help students to build a strong vocabulary basis while having fun; through games and competitive activities for instance. The vocabulary dealt with, is of an advanced level; worthy of university students. It is of crucial importance for university students to use what some people tend to call “smart words” when they’re facing formal situations especially when discussing problems and solutions. Saying “exacerbate a problem” instead of “make a problem worse” will undeniably reflect a more positive image within academic environments. Including quotes in one’s speech is also an efficient way to demonstrate that students are up to scratch for debates and formal discussions that’s why students are encouraged to highlight passages from their favorite writers’ books for later discussions in the session.
